SMa Institute Attained EduTrust Certification

The EduTrust certification scheme is a voluntary certification scheme administered by the Council for Private Education (CPE). It will replace the previous CaseTrust for Education scheme administered by the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE).

Private Education Institutions (PEIs) need to be EduTrust-certified before being able to offer placement for international students who require a Student's Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

SMa Institute is awarded the EduTrust certification in September 2010. Under the EduTrust Certification Scheme, SMa Institute was assessed by CPE in the following key areas:

• Management commitment and responsibilities;
• Corporate governance and administration;
• External recruitment agents;
• Student protection and support services;
• Academic process and assessment of students; and
• Quality assurance, monitoring and results

The EduTrust certification helps to distinguish higher quality providers in the Singapore's private education industry. As required under the EduTrust Certification Scheme, all fees paid by students are fully protected under CPE's Fee Protection Scheme. We also adopted the CPE-standard PEI-Student Contract.
