Programme Outline
There are five different stages: elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. There will be up to five hours of input each day. All students are tested on arrival and then placed in a class at the correct level.
The courses are designed to help all students make steady and consistent progress. All students are required to take "end of level exams" and complete them successfully before progressing to the next stage.
The stage consists of one term of 10 weeks of formal class time. Formal class time consists of 25 hours of contact time per week. In addition to formal class time, the students are required to spend approximately 7 hours per week working on the programme, doing homework and revision practices prescribed in the course. On the 11th week, students will need to successfully complete the end of level exams, followed by a week's break before progressing to the next stage.
Assessment Methods
To successfully complete the unit, students must perform satisfactorily in each element that makes up the unit. Students are tested in listening, reading, writing and speaking as four separate modules.
