Introduction

The Murdoch Bachelor of Commerce is a fully accredited programme that comprises of 9-12 modules and can be completed in 16 months in Singapore on a part time basis. It also offers students the opportunity to complete a double/ single major degree in the following combinations:

Objectives

This degree is designed to equip participants with the skills and expertise for work in a contemporary media industry characterised by rapid change, convergence and technological innovation. Students also learn a range of writing and professional communication skills. Units cover new media technologies, governmental cultural and media policy, and the global media industry with a focus on Asian media. As part of the Mass Communication degree, students also learn about media audiences and public opinion and they also develop qualitative and quantitative communication research skills. The programme explores a wide range of relevant issues, theories and perspectives which equip the graduates with an understanding the complexities and responsibilities of medias in the 21st century.

Programme Duration

The Murdoch Bachelor of Mass Communication programme is 100% delivered in Singapore by Murdoch University lecturers and their international associate lecturers. This course is offered on a modular basis tailored to meet the needs of busy professionals. Each unit is supported with over 30 to 36 contact hours conducted on weekday evenings / weekends.
Entry Criteria

- All Polytechnic Diploma holders
- SMa Diploma in Mass Communication
- Business or Mass Communication related
- Diploma from other recognized institutions will be review on a case to case basis
- GCE "N", "O", "A" levels holders and ITE graduates are required to undertake the Diploma in Mass Communication programme to be eligible for the 16 months programme.
Application Procedure

Interested applicants are required to submit the following:
- Duly-completed application form that can be obtained from SMa School of Management or SMa web site
- Certified true copies of all education certificates and transcripts
- Application processing fee of S$20 (non-refundable)
* Reservations will not be entertained.
Withdrawal & Deferment

All notice of withdrawal must be in writing. A full refund of the course fees paid will be made if notice of withdrawal is received more than 60 days before course commencement. If notice of withdrawal is received between 60 to 30 days before course commencment, 75% of course fees paid will be refunded.
No refund will be made after the course has commenced. Course Fee paid will not be refunded in the event of deferment regardless of whether the request made is prior to commencement or after the commencement of the course.
Changes & Amendments

SMa reserves the right to make changes to the programme structure, admission requirements, course fee, examination rules and regulations, lecturers, date and venue of lectures.
