Objectives

The Master of Information Security and Intelligence is a professional course designed to meet the demand for security and intelligence professionals in government, law enforcement, and industry. The student can exit after Stage 1 or Stage 2, and receive a Graduate Certificate or a Graduate Diploma in Information Security and Intelligence respectively. The whole course can be completed in on-line mode if desired.
Programme Outline

Master of Information Security and Intelligence
The Master of Information Security & Intelligence emphasis on the function and management of security technology in the protection of information, knowledge and IT infrastructure and assets, and is supported by appropriate studies in law and ethics. Graduates are well equipped for a career in the security industry.

There are a variety of units so candidates can either specialise or gain a broad appreciation of the area.
School of Computer Information Science
The School of Computer and Information Science recognises the importance of security and intelligence in the digital world. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum covering areas relating to computer security, information security, information warfare and intelligence.
Programme Duration

The Master of Information Security and Intelligence consists of 10 Units delivered over a period of 12 - 24 months. The classes will be delivered via face-to-face lectures with professors from ECU. Each unit is supported with 24 to 30 hours of seminars/workshops (4 consecutive sessions) after office hours in the evening/or over weekends/public holidays.
This course can be completed in 20 months and is delivered in a modular structure of 1 unit every 2 months consisting of 24 to 32 hrs per unit. Classes are conducted on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday by Faculty Professors flown in from overseas.
This course will be fully taught by the faculty Professor in ECU. The professors will usually stay in Singapore for 1 - 2 weeks and may be available for additional academic consultation with students outside classroom hours.
STAGE 1 (8 months)

- CSI4110 Introduction to Information Warfare
- SCY4101 Security and Risk Management

On exit of the program at Stage 1 and successful completion of the unit set, the Graduate Certificate in Information Security & Intelligence will be awarded.
STAGE 2 (6 months)
- CSI5120 Contemporary Intelligence
- CSI5309 Information and Network Centric Operations
- PRN5110 Perception Management
On exit of the program at Stage 2 and successful completion of the unit set, the Graduate Diploma in Information Security & Intelligence will be awarded.
STAGE 3 (6 months)
- SCY5112 Current Issues in Security
- SCY5111 Advanced Security Risk Management
- SCY5113 Advances in Security Technology
Assessment Scheme

Each course is assessed by written assignments and an examination.
Entry Criteria

Students may enter with an undergraduate degree, or five years appropriate work experience.
Students who do not have an undergraduate degree but with substantial experience and professional qualifications/certification will be eligible for the Graduate Certificate in Information Security and Intelligence before continuing with the Master programme
Application Procedure

Interested applicants are required to submit the following:
- Duly-completed application form that can be obtained from SMa School of Management or SMa web site
- Certified true copies of all education certificates and transcripts
- Application processing fee of S$20 (non-refundable)
* Reservations will not be entertained.
Withdrawal & Deferment

All notice of withdrawal must be in writing. A full refund of the course fees paid will be made if notice of withdrawal is received more than 60 days before course commencement. If notice of withdrawal is received between 60 to 30 days before course commencment, 75% of course fees paid will be refunded.
No refund will be made after the course has commenced. Course Fee paid will not be refunded in the event of deferment regardless of whether the request made is prior to commencement or after the commencement of the course.
Changes & Amendments

SMa reserves the right to make changes to the programme structure, admission requirements, course fee, examination rules and regulations, lecturers, date and venue of lectures.
